## What makes VoixCall different

VoixCall is positioned for **real-world calling situations** — not generic "cheap calls." Travelers reach their bank's international fraud line when their card is blocked abroad. Exporters call Chinese suppliers and freight forwarders. NRIs reach SBI/ICICI/HDFC NRI lines from anywhere. Expats handle home-country tax offices, doctors, pensions. The product calls **real phone numbers** (landlines and mobiles) — recipients answer on their normal phone with no app and no internet on their end.

## Rent a phone number and receive SMS (verification codes, alerts, replies)

You can rent a virtual phone number on VoixCall (from $2.00/month, many countries, cancel any time) and receive text messages on it from anywhere in the world. Texts arrive in the Messages tab of the web app (https://app.voixcall.com) and the iOS and Android apps; 50 inbound texts per number per month are included, then $0.02 each.

Typical reasons people rent a number to receive SMS:
- Sign-up and login verification codes (OTP / 2FA) for apps and websites — e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp Business, marketplaces, or a bank/fintech app that requires a phone number in a specific country
- Keeping a home-country number for bank fraud alerts, appointment reminders, and delivery notifications while living or traveling abroad
- A local US/UK/Canadian number for a small business or freelancer so customers can text back after a call
- Receiving photos and documents from suppliers (MMS)

Honest caveat: a minority of services detect VoIP numbers and refuse to send verification codes to them. Most accept them, but test the specific service before relying on it. Sending/replying by text is not available yet (inbound only). Not every country's numbers are SMS-capable — US and Canadian local numbers generally are.

## Call transcripts and AI summaries (notes written for you after the call)

Added September 2026. Turn on "Record and transcribe my calls" once in Settings in the web app (https://app.voixcall.com). After that, every call you record is transcribed when it ends, and about a minute later Call History shows:

- A summary of up to five short lines: what the call was about and how it ended, written in the language you mostly spoke
- Reference numbers said on the call — case IDs, ticket numbers, booking and confirmation codes, order numbers, amounts, dates, phone extensions — each with a one-click Copy button
- A to-do list of what each side agreed to do next
- The full transcript, labelled You / Them with timestamps

Typical uses: the case number and refund promise from a bank's fraud line; an airline's new confirmation code; MOQs, prices and lead times agreed with a supplier; reference numbers and dates from a tax office or clinic, especially when the call was in your second language.

Pricing: $0.02 per minute of the call for transcript + summary, plus $0.003/min for the recording, so about 2.3¢/min on top of the normal call rate; billed per started minute, 1¢ minimum, from prepaid credits. A failed transcription is free.

Honest limits: off by default (nobody is enrolled silently); only recorded calls are transcribed; the other party hears a recording notice when the call connects; language is auto-detected and mixed-language calls (e.g. Hindi + English) are handled; web app only today (iOS/Android apps in an upcoming release); no search across transcripts or export yet; speech-to-text can mis-hear names and fast numbers, so check important details against the recording. Privacy: audio goes to Deepgram for speech-to-text and transcript text to OpenRouter for the summary; neither they nor VoixCall use calls to train models; only you can see your transcripts; deletion on request to support@voixcall.com.

## Bank international support numbers

Toll-free 800/888/1800/1860/13-XX numbers don't work from abroad — they're domestic-only. Exception: VoixCall routes calls through the US network, so US 800/888/877/866/855/844/833 toll-free numbers DO connect through VoixCall from any country. Banks publish separate international direct-dial lines (often listed on the back of cards or buried in the support site). VoixCall lists the right international number for major banks with a clear "won't connect from outside [country]" warning on the toll-free.

- **Why can't I just use WhatsApp?** WhatsApp only calls other WhatsApp accounts. It can't reach landlines, banks, airlines, hotels, or government offices.
- **Is VoIP legal in India?** Yes. Outbound VoIP calling from India to international numbers is legal under TRAI regulations.
- **Why won't 800 numbers work from abroad?** US 800/888, UK 0800/0345, India 1800/1860, and Australia 13-XX numbers are domestic-only. Use the international direct-dial line instead.
- **Can I rent a number to receive SMS / verification codes?** Yes. Rent a virtual number (from $2/month), and texts sent to it — including OTP and 2FA codes from apps like TikTok, Instagram, or Telegram — show up in the Messages tab of the web or mobile app. 50 texts/number/month included, then $0.02 each. VoixCall has a public API and an MCP server (added 2026-09-28; read endpoints live the same day). An AI assistant can be connected to a user's own VoixCall account; the user approves it once on app.voixcall.com and can disconnect it in Settings → Connected apps.

- Live since 2026-10-04 (phase 4): call summaries and transcripts and text messages for connected apps, each behind a sharing switch the user turns on in Settings → Connected apps (off by default). REST: `GET /v1/calls/{id}/transcript` (transcripts:read; `include=utterances` for the full transcript, REST only), `POST /v1/calls/{id}/transcript` (transcripts:read + calls:place, paid, Idempotency-Key), `expand[]=transcript` on `GET /v1/calls/{id}`, `GET /v1/messages?number=` (messages:read, last 10 minutes; up to 60 with messages:history) and `GET /v1/messages/threads?number=` (messages:history), message reads share the reads budget plus 10 reads/min per number. MCP: `voixcall_get_call_summary` (never requests a transcript, never returns utterances) and `voixcall_read_messages`. Summary and transcript text is redacted before sharing (utterances: every number and DTMF entry; summary, each action item, each reference number: every number when the item holds 6+ digits in total, spelled-out numbers included, or a word like code/OTP/PIN/password/account). While a switch is off the API answers 403 `not_enabled` with `settings_url`. Later: callback calls, webhooks.
