How day passes charge you
- They usually switch on by themselves. The first call, text or background data use abroad starts the day’s charge — one app refresh is enough.
- You pay only on days you use it, but a “day” is often a rolling 24 hours from first use.
- Some carriers cap it. AT&T charges at most 10 day-pass fees per bill cycle; Canadian and T-Mobile multi-day passes are cheaper than paying daily on longer trips.
- To avoid charges, turn off cellular data and roaming (or use airplane mode with Wi-Fi) until you actually want to use the pass.
