Long texts and emoji can count as more than one text — carriers bill in segments, and so do we. Everything is paid from prepaid credits; there's no subscription. Calls are billed separately at per-minute rates.
Receiving SMS: FAQ
Can I receive SMS on a VoixCall virtual number?
Yes. Every SMS-capable number you rent on VoixCall receives texts and picture messages in a Messages inbox. There is nothing to activate — texts sent to the number are captured from the moment you own it.
How much does it cost to receive texts?
Each number includes 50 texts a month. After that, texts are $0.02 each and picture messages are $0.04. Long messages and messages with emoji are split into several parts by the carrier and count as more than one text. The charge comes out of the same prepaid credits you use for calls.
Will verification codes from banks and apps work?
Often, but not always — and that is up to the sender, not us. Some banks and apps refuse to send codes to any virtual or VoIP number. If you plan to rely on a number for a specific service, test it with that service first.
Can I reply by text?
Not yet. VoixCall numbers are receive-only for SMS today. You can call anyone who texted you straight from the conversation.
Which countries' numbers can receive SMS?
It depends on the country and number type — not every country's numbers are SMS-capable. Numbers are available in 60+ countries; check the number's details before you buy if texts matter to you.
Is this a free public SMS receiving site?
No. Free public inbox sites share one number with everyone, so anyone can read your codes and most services block those numbers. A VoixCall number is rented to you alone, and only you can read what is sent to it.
